22–23 April 2026 — KTH Stockholm & Uppsala University
Comics
& Machines
(COMA 2026)
An international conference on sequential art, computational technologies, and machine intelligence — critically rethinking comics as active computational configurations rather than passive recipients of technological change.
The Conference
COMA brings together scholars, artists, and practitioners to examine how computational technologies reshape the production, distribution, and interpretation of comics — from AI image generation to machine-readable archives, from algorithmic narrative to digital drawing tools.
Programme
Two full days across two institutions: an opening keynote, ten thematic sessions, and a closing plenary. Day 1 at KTH Stockholm, Day 2 at Uppsala University.
Organised by Echo Chamber ASBL — conference@echochamber.be
